We love sailing and consider it a privilege to introduce young adults to it. It serves as a powerful tool for personal growth, connecting with nature, and building community. But the true focus belongs to the young adults themselves. Rather than hearing it from us, we want to introduce you to our campers and hand them the mic so they can share their experiences in their own words.
Meet TT
Ok, a little bit about me... Hi, my name is TT and I'll turn 18 this summer! Besides sailing, I love horseback riding and rodeo stuff. Growing up, my family and I traveled a lot. It was amazing to experience so many different cultures, but sometimes it felt like I didn't really belong anywhere. Going into sailing camp, I was kind of expecting the same thing, but as the days went on, we played games, and I made friends with the other students. I felt like I could actually relax, be myself and connect with my peers. Now, the sailing community feels like a second family to me. I've learned so much and am even working this summer as a counselor at the sailing camp that started me on this whole adventure! I hope I can help inspire other students as I myself was inspired at camp. I'm grateful to Sail Strong for providing me with community and support and helping me build confidence in myself. I'm really excited to see what lies ahead in this next chapter of my life. God bless!
